Today’s Devotional
He tells us:
"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: That I may make it manifest, as / ought to speak." Colossians 4:2-4
So much to garner from his prayer request; he says we should pray for ministers that God would give them opportunities to keep preaching the gospel even though as at the time of his writing, he was in prison for preaching the gospel! This is divine strengthening; where instead of giving in to the challenges wrought by his preaching, he is strengthened to preach even more irrespective.
Some people have never and will probably never be arrested for preaching, yet they let imaginary situations and thoughts discourage them from even preaching at all- be different.
He also asked that they pray that he spoke AS HE OUGHT TO, because there’s every chance that in a certain environment, one can get intimidated or carried away and begin to talk about every other thing asides the gospel; and so we pray for focus. Pray for God’s ministers; for opportunities and a focus of purpose as they deliver the souls of men from eternal damnation.
