Today’s Devotional
Jesus told us of the Holy Ghost:
“…he will shew you things to come.” John 16:13
This is his ministry in your life, to ensure you aren’t taken unawares by unpredictable circumstances, it’s not about titles or positions in church, even Christian who has received the Holy Spirit should experience his ministry and one way he shows you things to come is in the place of prayer, see Peter; Acts 10:9, Acts 10:19-20
He fell into a trance and afterwards heard the Spirit of God precisely describe to him those he had sent to get him. Same thing happened with Paul, who had just gotten born again- no title, no nothing, yet as he prayed, he was shown things to come and we know this because Jesus himself said so:
“…he prayeth, And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.” Acts 9:11-12
Don’t be casual when you pray, your time of prayer is not a time of reporting, it’s a time of fellowship with the Godhead.
