Today’s Devotional
We have a special program this Sunday and on Wednesday, it matters what your disposition is leading into, during and after the program.
Most people are fervent before and during a meeting but afterwards immediately get back to “normal” and for some strange reason get surprised that things actually do fall back to the status quo.
Learn from Jesus, he was praying during his baptism, right after he was brought out, something remarkable happened- God spoke from heaven audibly:
“And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.” Luke 3:22
He didn’t just stop at the spectacular event that just happened, he went on to the wilderness AFTER the fact and continued praying, and in his life afterwards— we see him pray continuously: Luke 4:42, Luke 6:12, Luke 9:18, Luke 9:28, Luke 11:1
Even before he was arrested, while praying, he had another spectacular encounter: Luke 22:43
After the encounter? He kept praying even more:
“And being in an agony HE PRAYED MORE EARNESTLY...” Luke 22:44
