” Memory Verse
“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;”
2 Timothy 3:14
Today’s Devotional
He continues from the main verse:
“And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:15
He says the scriptures are able to make you wise, so it becomes clear what he expects you to continue in- the scriptures that you have learnt. He says the end of the wisdom imparted you by God’s word is for your salvation!
Timothy was already born again and saved from sin, but salvation is an all encompassing word- the word would save you from the pitfalls of temptations, from the dire of pains and sicknesses, from unprofitable decisions that could cause chaos and ruin. Jesus said:
“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” John 8:12
There is a light of life, a way to live life free from the corruption on the earth, and when you follow Jesus through his word, that salvation you received in Christ would be made manifest in your daily actionable decisions.
