” Memory Verse
“But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;”
2 Timothy 3:14
Today’s Devotional
In 2 Timothy 3:15, he remarks that Timothy had known (been aware of) the scriptures since he was a child, he had given a clue on how that was possible earlier on:
“When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.” 2 Timothy 1:5
Notice, the real faith Timothy possessed and expressed wasn’t as a result of his mom and grandmom’s teaching solely but an expression of what they had. They didn’t just talk, they did, they continued in what they learnt.
God thinks of your posterity, think with him:
“Did he not make them one? And the vestige of the spirit remains in him. And why did he make them one? He was seeking godly offspring...” Malachi 2:15, ISV see also Genesis 18:17-19
Knowing and continuing in God’s word goes beyond you, your children and grandchildren would imbibe the life of faith you imbibe and live by not the one you wish or force them to live by:
“Do as God does. After all, you are his dear children.” Ephesians 5:1, CEV
Give yourself to God’s word.
