Today’s Devotional
God’s word would make you wise into salvation, he had said:
“Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” 1 Timothy 4:16
Take heed to yourself, examine yourself and how much of God’s word that you hear or teach, you keep and is manifest in your life. There are people who are occupied with taking heed of other people’s destinies and shortcomings but when it comes to- God cares about YOU!
Those things you teach others, those things you learn, he says continue in them and you would save yourself and those that listen to you. The word is for YOU (that teach) AND then THEM (that hear).
This idea that there are people who are just good at giving advice while never applying what they say is inconsistent with God’s word:
“…The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: FOR THEY SAY AND DO NOT.” Matthew 23:2-3
He tells you the word you share should apply to you first and then those who listen, just like it did with these men: Mark 6:30, Acts 1:1.
