” Memory Verse
“But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;”
Titus 1:8
Today’s Devotional
God’s steward must be holy- so the idea that walking in holiness is unattainable is not correct, Jesus said: John 17:19; so he expects you to live a sanctified life matched by God’s word and because this is true, he says you should be temperate (egkrates- master of self); you must use God’s word and control your self and your responses in life. Don’t just move with the crowd, stand out and steadfast on the word.
The Bible tells us:
“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature…” 2 Peter 1:4
Not partakers of the human nature, here’s what he said happened to that one:
“Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.” Romans 6:6
That old man; that old you that was full of and consumed by the human nature is dead, he emphasizes:
“Consequently, brothers, we are not—with respect to human nature, that is—under an obligation to live according to human nature.” Romans 8:12, ISV
