” Memory Verse
“For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.”
1 Timothy 4:5
Today’s Devotional
Prayer would not only separate you but prepare you for God’s best:
“And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.” Joshua 3:5
There is a time of visitation from God: when he ushers all that you require for a season into your life: Luke 19:44
It matters that you are ready when he comes, unlike some who wouldn’t be: Luke 12:37-38
And prayer ensures this is the case, as you pray, you remain sober and serious, ready to receive all that God has in store for you. At different monumental moments in your life, you ought to pray, approach such events and seasons prayerfully and not casually even though others behave differently. Look at Jesus:
“Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, AND PRAYING, the heaven was opened,” Luke 3:21
His own water baptism wasn’t just some swimming pool experience, he was praying as he was baptized; it was a monumental moment and he didn’t approach it casually, immediately after he would go on to the wilderness: Mark 1:12-13
