” Memory Verse
“Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.”
Matthew 23:28
Today’s Devotional
Hear these testimonies of men who had not received the life of God:
“And they were both (Zacharias and Elisabeth) righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.” Luke 1:6
“And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.” Acts 23:1
“And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?” Job 1:8
All but Job, had the law to guide them against that which was wrong and towards that which was right, but we are in a better place in Christ, the Bible tells us:
“so that the righteous requirement of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not live according to human nature but according to the Spirit.” Romans 8:4, ISV
The righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us, who don’t live our lives based on how we feel or the expectations of society but strictly according to God’s word authored by his Spirit. Living without hypocrisy and iniquity is not only possible, it is God’s expectation for all of us in Christ.
