” Memory Verse
“Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.”
Titus 1:14
Today’s Devotional
Read this:
“If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,” (1 Timothy 6:3-4)
Jesus lived a regimented life in how he talked- he didn’t just talk anyhow:
“For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.” John 12:49
Everything he said was a commandment from God, he definitely didn’t do all of that so that people can forsake or merge his words for or with others. His words are wholesome.
The word “wholesome” is from the Greek “huguaino”, which means “to be sound, to be well, to be in good health”. This is what every word from Jesus ministers to your spirit and to your life, it also goes to show what words from fallen men can do to you. Where did that sudden illness, fear, depression and paranoia come from?
“…For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.” 1 John 3:8
