” Memory Verse
“But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate;”
Titus 1:8
Today’s Devotional
He tells us a steward of God should be a lover of hospitality and a lover of good men or goodness. God’s word doesn’t just tell you what is not expected of you but goes ahead and tells you what you ought to do.
He tells us to be hospitable: generous to guests and kind to strangers:
“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” Hebrews 13:2, just like Abraham in Genesis 18.
Don’t be part of those who try to gauge people before deciding how to respond to them, that is sinful:
“But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.” James 2:9, read from verse 1
The Bible tells us:
“The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.” Proverbs 22:2
Just as God is gracious and kind to all, because you are a steward of his resource and expressions; be just as gracious and hospitable to all without favoritism or classism.
